（0.5）Samsara room：与锈湖系列没什么关系，但也在逃离方块系列里，按发行时间最早，所以算前传。 （1）Seasons：1964年到1982年，讲Laura Vanderboom的故事。下面的严重剧透：1964春回来后Laura接到了乌鸦的电话，开始有了恶鬼来杀她的幻觉。1971夏Laura持续拥有幻觉，看见被恶鬼杀死的自己。1971秋Laura Vanderboom被杀害。1981冬Laura现在已成为恶鬼，她造出了一个机器来穿越回过去，利用蓝色方块的魔力以阻止自身的死亡。时间线里加入了无数变动，而造就了另一条时间线。 （2）The Lake：1969年，Laura Vanderboom在湖边小屋钓鱼。 （2.5）Arles：同Samsara room一样，与锈湖系列没什么关系，跟梵高有关，但按照发行时间算，算番外。 （3）Harvey's Box：1969年，发生在从家到湖边小屋的旅途上Laura Vanderboom的宠物Harvey在纸盒里的故事。 （4）Case 23：1971年秋，Dale Vandermeer被派去调查Laura的死因，同Mr.Crow进行简短对话，发现Laura死亡地点在锈湖，由Mr.Crow（Aldous Vanderboom）送至教堂，在教堂偶遇了Mr.Owl（Jakob Eilander），Mr.Owl将Dale摆渡至湖边小屋。去往湖边小屋，并走进电梯，开始发现锈湖的秘密。 （5）The Mill：Mr.Crow与Case 23现场的Dale对话后，安排把Laura的尸体从Dale去的死亡现场运送到磨坊，把Laura的记忆从尸体中提取出来为黑白方块并混合到锈湖中，导致Laura变成恶鬼。Laura被Mr.Crow劝说后离开，去往Seasons中1981冬。 （6）Hotel：旅馆建于1893年前后，是湖边小屋的前身，用来方便夺取动物的黑白记忆和它们的肉体。Dale通过Case23 中的电梯，带着金色方块误入旅馆的时间。 （7）Birthday：Dale从旅馆的时间返回真实的时间后想起的事：小时候过生日一家被杀害的事，并改变过去。 （8）Theatre：Dale从旅馆的时间返回真实的时间后想起的事：时间在1971年Laura死后与1972警察局之前，他遇见了Laura的男友Bob。 （9）Roots：1860~1935年，James Vanderboom 在搬到他叔叔William（不是Mr.Owl）死后留下来的房子并形成一个家族最后又死绝后留下一个人造人Laura（由William重生来的）。1859春，Aldous和 William Vanderboom兄弟炼出了长生不老药。William去世，Aldous服药之后变成了乌鸦（Mr. Crow）。 （10）The Cave：1972冬季，Mr.Crow收集齐三种方块并将Laura和Dale记忆结合产生金色方块，并将金色方块交予Dale。Dale进入电梯。 （11）Paradise：Mr.Owl的由来与锈湖需要记忆方块献祭的最初故事。 （12）Paradox：The Cave中Laura和Dale记忆结合导致Dale意识苏醒但陷入循环需要做出正确的决定。 （13）The White Door：Bob（Laura的男朋友）的经历番外。Laura与Bob相识相爱，在Laura死后在剧院戒酒消愁被当做嫌犯带到警察局，被Dale提取记忆后杀死警察，被送到白门
